Google thinks like somewherein….

Recently Sun Microsystems talked with Li Moore software engineer at Google, Inc.

Google

is using Java SE and some bunch of Java EE libraries..

Google widely use Java Collection, Java Concurrency and Java NIO packages in their projects.

Li Moore is very much interested on Tiger (J2SE 5.0), he was waiting for the “enums” “generics” feature in Java SDK. He was also expecting some addition in Java SE like clone() method to Cloneable class and also one interesting things that is “Pluggable file system API” like http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=203 this proposed JSR.

He and his team got more fun when they have introduced for-each style loop in J2SE 5.0 (Tiger)

But more interesting and I catching for somewhere in… people is “Google do think as similar as somewhere in… people think”.

Let’s make it clear.

“……Google lets its engineers devote 20 percent of their time to any project that they think is cool and in the company’s interest…….” – Li Moore.

That’s obviously a great fun that we are thinking as one successful company (upcoming gain).

  1. Happy to see that they are using us as inspiration. Or is it that the great companies like Google and somewhere in… understands that great talents needs freedom and to be allowed to do their pet projects and study?

Google and Sun Microsystems are to announce a new and kick-ass webtool: an Office Suite based on Sun’s OpenOffice and accesible with your browser. Yesterday at 10:30h (Pacific Time) two companies are holding a conference with more details, but Jonathan Schwartz (President of Sun Microsystems) claimed on Saturday on this post of his blog that "the world is about to change this week", predicting new ways to access software.
